The promotional video of Kurbaan, which was shot weeks ago, shows Saif Ali Khan in a completely new avatar.
It has been made to the tune of The title track Kurbaan Hua.
It’s different
Director Rensil D’silva sheds light on the concept, “I wanted to make an abstract video. Something very different than putting six girls in a line and making them dance. I mean that’s also fine, but Kurbaan is a very different film. The genre is dark and intense so the Kurbaan Hua video is in keeping with that mood. Saif’s look is very different from anything he’s done before and the credit goes to Bosco for directing it so well.”
The video is a collage of abstract images of a man in torment and pain. “There are scenes where Saif is whipping himself. We have used the elements of the earth, wind, fire and water. Then there are also references to Adam and Eve, with Saif biting into an apple only to find it’s rotten.” (read more …)
Soha Ali Khan tells about her role and experience working with actor Emran Hashmi in Tum Mile What did you like most about Tum Mile?
Tum Mile is special for various reasons. I have never done a contemporary love story. So it was refreshing change for me, being the lead girl in the movie. The nature of the love story is also fresh, the dialogues, the scenes, the way the couple fight, how they make it very ‘intimate’ without showing any physical exposure. And last but not the least there is the ‘flood’, which is an unusual backdrop. That’s set the movie apart from other movies visually. The water, the underwater shots, the action has give an altogether different look to the movie.
What was most difficult for you as an actress while shooting for Tum Mile?
For me, the underwater sequences were the most difficult and scary ones. I have never ever spent any time doing underwater swimming. The atmosphere on the sets was uncomfortable, dirty and painful. That was a physically torturing experience for me.
How was Emran Hashmi as a co-star? (read more …)
HYDERABAD: With the seven-match series tantalisingly poised 2-2, India will have to overcome its batting shortcomings when they go into the
Sachin, Sehwag

crucial fifth cricket One-dayer against a spirited but depleted Australia on Thursday.
The Indians, seeking to dethrone Australia from the number one spot in world rankings, will be strengthened by the expected rerun of Gautam Gambhir, who had to skip last match due to a neck injury.
Although the left-hander Gambhir’s presence will lend solidity to the top order, the worrying factor for the hosts has been the lack of good starts in the series so far. (read more …)

NEW YORK — Someday, the magic runs out. Because that’s what it is, right? Magic. The ninth inning is the Chinese Water Torture Cell. The ninth inning is for escape artists, and escape artists grow old, and the magic runs out. Someday (read more …)
