HYDERABAD: Five newborn babies on Sunday night died under mysterious circumstances in the infants’ ward of a hospital in Vijayawada, around 300 kms from here, triggering protest by their parents.
Doctors at the old government general hospital claimed three babies died a natural death and enquiry is on to ascertain the cause of the death of the other two infants. (read more…)

Election will be held on November 23rd and counting will take place on November 25th. There are 5,663 polling stations setup for this election. More than 15,000 EVMs will be used. PUNE: India’s Soumya Swaminathan won the World junior girls (u-20) title when she defeated Kubra Ozturk of Turkey in the 13th and last round at
Puerto Madryn (Argentina) on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old Woman Grandmaster tallied 10 points in this under-20 tournament. D Harika (girls) and Abhijit Gupta (open) had won the World junior titles on India’s Independence Day in Turkey last year.
This 45-player event has lost some of its sheen because many players decided to skip the event in the South American continent. Considering that Soumya (Elo 2297) was seeded ninth and needed a victory in the last round makes this achievement praiseworthy. Actor-producer Ajay Devgn, who is riding high on the success of his latest flick All The Best, does not believe that Khans (Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir) rule the Bollywood.
“It is totally wrong to say or assume that the Khans dominate the Bollywood film industry. I try to do the best I can,” Devgn said.
The actor added that he detests going to award functions and would rather prefer his work to speak for him.

HYDERABAD: A 21-year-old national-level woman boxer hailing from the city was found dead in her hostel room in L B Stadium on Wednesday morning.
The family members of the boxer, S Amaravathi, alleged that she had committed suicide due to harassment by her coach. However, hostel authorities denied the charge and said that the victim was suffering from a low self-esteem. The police said she was found dead with vomit all over and that the exact cause of the death could be ascertained only after a post-mortem. (read more…)

High-fibre diets are associated with many health benefits, including lower risks of heart disease, diabetes, colon cancer and breast cancer. Experts generally recommend that adults get 20 to 35 grams of fibre each day, depending on their calorie intake.
