HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh on Thursday plunged into a political crisis with the Congress high command setting the ball rolling to hive off a separate Telangana. The move split the ruling party, TDP and PRP legislators virtually on regional lines and 93 MLAs from the three parties and at least five MPs cutting across party lines submitted their resignations to the respective speakers in protest against the Telangana development. HYDERABAD: The IIMs have cancelled the Common Admission Test (CAT) in two of the test centres in city. The test at JNTU, Kukatpally, was cancelled for Friday (Dec. 4) and that at MVSR Engineering College, Nadergul, for two days on Dec. 4 and 6. Hyderabad, Nov. 17: The Praja Rajyam president, Mr K. Chiranjeevi, escaped from being electrocuted when he was campaigning for the GHMC elections at Gautham Nagar division on Tuesday.
When his vehicle was going through Mallikarjun Nagar, live wires fell in front of his open top vehicle. His security officials who saw the wires tried to clear them with the help of bamboo sticks. When doing so, they came into contact with each other due to which there were some sparks. Chiranjeevi ducked to save himself and then continued with the campaign. (read more …)

According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), out of 1.22 lakh suicides every year in the country, Andhra Pradesh records around 14,224. (read more …)
